A SABRE FOR AN ETHIOPIAN CAVALRY OFFICER, UNSIGNED, first quarter of the 20th century with broad curving 31in. blade, narrow blind fuller along back edge and another central bordering an etched panel of scrolls in a further broad fuller, the forte marked 'COMPTOIR EUROPEAN' and 'ACIER SUPERIOR' together with depictions of crowned lions and a charging knight, nickel 'P' shaped knuckle-bow with straight cross-guard, rolled quillion and broad squared bevel-edged langets (covering the previous mention inscriptions), moulded and ribbed hard rubber grip with front finger groove and plain back-strap with carved lionshead pommel, in a later simplistic leather scabbard
